First Post and Vegan for 30 Days Challenge
Hello All! My name's Melissa, if you didn't already figure that by the name of this blog. I'm 19, a college student, a photographer, an aspiring world traveler, and an adventure enthusiast! I've decided to start a blog and youtube series, firstly to share my experiences during a 30 day challenge I will be taking on starting tomorrow and secondly to inspire myself to make positive changes in my life. (And of course because I wanted to share it with you guys!!)
During my Vegan for 30 Days Challenge, I will be focusing on eating a mainly plant-based vegan diet. My reason for participating in this challenge is mainly to challenge myself, and also put in to action my beliefs on animal rights and living a healthy lifestyle. I hope that after these 30 days, I continue to eat a vegan diet and improve my health, both physical and mentally.
For all of you who don't really know what veganism is, I'll break it down for you! Eating a vegan diet means no meat or fish, in addition to the products produced my them. Vegetarians, unlike vegans, consumes products produced by animals, such as eggs and dairy. Some vegans do not even eat honey!
Now you may be wondering why people choose to eat this way... I mean, why don't they eat dairy?? Like come on, CHEESE!!! Many vegans choose not to eat these products, because of animal cruelty. Many, like myself, do not support cruel living situation and treatment of these animals. I won't go into any gory details, but if you're still not aware of the maltreatment of these animals, I'll try to find some links for you to check out. Other people choose to become vegan for the sake of the lifestyle. It all depends on the vegan!
Today was my last day of eating nonvegan, and as you can see from above, I still eat semi healthy when I'm not vegan. Hopefully that will make it a tiny bit easier to convert so quickly. (Time will tell!)

Anyway, enough about veganism for tonight! I bought and painted this little plant container and then I planted some baby succulents!!! I'm so excited to have my own little succulent garden in my room, AHHH!! I'm currently trying to decide on names for them, so if any of you guys think of any, let me know!!! So far my brother and I have come up with Kip and Henry.
Have a great night!
Melissa
