I quit my job... and got a new one!!

Yes, its true!!!! After over a year and a half of working retail at Staples, I quit my job. It quite honestly had been something I'd been thinking about for quite some time, as I was only working one day a week due to my school schedule, I have been working as a baby, house, and dog sitter, and I really just needed a change of scenery from the whole repetitive retail situation. It was a pretty bittersweet last day for me. The true bitter part was leaving all the friends I made working over the past year and a half. This all officially marked the end and beginning of a new stage in my life, and I honestly could not be more excited for what comes my way next.

Now let me tell you, I thought after quitting my job I was going to stay unemployed and work here and there for different families as their sitter. But the damn near impossible happened and the following day I saw an ad from an art studio I had been wanting to work at, looking for a new employee. I jumped on that job like flies on... hahaha I can never get over that phrase. I'm sorry... kinda haha.

ANYWAY I GOT HIRED!!! I never thought it was possible to quit a job without a new job already set up and getting hired the very next day. I am now working at I Heart Art, an art studio in Pleasant Hill run by two very fabulous women (Love you ladies!!), and I honestly could not be more excited. I am wanting to be an elementary school teacher in my future and I'm also starting to learn about different mediums of art on my own. Working at I Heart Art could not be a more perfect fit for me and its so great to feel the foreign feeling of excitement of going to work!

I have worked one busy weekend so far, which included assisting three birthday parties (one of which is shown in the photos above) and one open studio. It's so fun to see all the little ones get so creative with their art projects and also to see how proud they are of their hard work. Working with these kids has really been rewarding with all the inspiration and excitement I've witnessed and experienced.

LOVE

I am blessed.

Yours truly,
Melissa
